Westcarr scored four FA Cup goals on Kettering's run this season
Kettering's two-goal hero Craig Westcarr has insisted the players were proud of their efforts against Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Poppies went down 4-2 to the Premier League outfit, conceding twice in the last three minutes after looking on course for a replay in London.
"It was a great occasion, probably the best since I've been here," the striker told BBC Radio Northampton.
"We would have liked a replay, but we're still proud and happy," he added.
"The fans were brilliant and there was a terrific atmosphere. It's just the sort of game you like to play in.
"In the last few minutes we let ourselves down, but at the end of the day we've gone out and competed with them."
Westcarr, 23, netted two equalisers for Kettering - on 36 and 83 minutes - before goals from Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora sent Fulham into the last 16.
