Lee Martin summoned back from Charlton to Ipswich Town

Martin has made nine league starts for Ipswich in his two years at the club

Ipswich Town have cancelled midfielder Lee Martin's season-long loan spell at League One side Charlton.

Town opted to trigger a 24-hour recall clause in the 23-year-old's contract.

Kevin Lisbie could also be summoned from his loan spell at Millwall but fellow forward Pablo Counago's Crystal Palace deal has no such clause.

Martin, who was bought by previous boss Roy Keane from Manchester United in the summer of 2009, has scored twice in 20 league games for the Addicks.

New manager Paul Jewell has made it clear that he will give every member of his squad the opportunity to make an impression as he looks to pull the Tractor Boys away from the Championship relegation zone.

Martin, who has featured just 18 times as a Town player, can now be considered to face Doncaster at Portman Road on Saturday.
