Derek Bowden

Ipswich chief executive Derek Bowden will leave Town at the end of the season to pursue other opportunities.

The 52-year-old was appointed as chief executive in July 2002 by chairman David Sheepshanks.

Ipswich were relegated from the Premier League in the previous season and went into administration in 2003.

Bowden and Sheepshanks were key in helping restructure Town's debts, and later selling the majority shareholding of the club to the Marcus Evans Group.

Owner Evans said: "He has shown outstanding loyalty and commitment."
