Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has defended his record after the editor of a local newspaper called for him to resign.
The East Anglian Daily Times said Magilton should have quit following two months without a home league win. Ipswich then won their next two games.
"If we are poor, I expect people to say we're poor," Magilton told BBC Suffolk.
"I don't expect negative speculation. I would like [local press] to be more supportive. But if we keep winning, the more supportive they'll become."
A small number of Ipswich supporters protested before the last home game against Nottingham Forest, calling for Magilton to go, but the Town boss defended their right to do so.
He said: "People have a right to demonstrate and a right to say whatever they feel, but it's done.
"I'm sure in the future it might rear its ugly head again but if it does you've got to deal with it.
"I'm better equipped now than I was two and a half years ago and every day is a learning experience for me."
