Ipswich are to freeze season ticket prices across the board for supporters signing up for the 2009/10 season.
Owner Marcus Evans has also promised to refund 50% of the fee if Ipswich are promoted, and has promised to spend more on players next season.
In a letter to season ticket holders, Evans writes: "I know money is tight in many households at the moment.
"That is why we have taken steps to keep football at Portman Road as affordable as possible."
With Ipswich bracing themselves for a drop in season ticket sales because of the economic downturn, Evans hopes the price freeze will sway those thinking of giving up their seats.
"I am strengthening my commitment to the club by making further substantial funds available for investment in the playing squad, but we need your support too," he added.
