Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan is hoping to make his full Republic of Ireland debut in Thursday's friendly against Colombia at Craven Cottage.

The 20-year-old - who did not feature in the 1-1 draw against Serbia on Saturday - could be in contention to replace Stephen Hunt of Reading.

Hunt has been ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury.

Garvan has made more than 100 league appearances for Ipswich since making his debut as a 17-year-old.

His Portman Road team-mate Alex Bruce is also in Giovanni Trapattoni's squad.
