Ipswich have signed right-back David Wright from Wigan Athletic until the summer of 2010. Wright, 26, has made 12 league appearances for the Latics this season and boss Paul Jewell admits it is a shame to see him leave the JJB.
Jewell told the club's website: "Wrighty is a terrific professional, who has worked hard to get his chance with us after a spell on the sidelines.
"However, I owe it to him to give him the chance of permanent football."
