 Bates could stay on at Ipswich after January |
Ipswich have completed the loan signing of Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates until January and the deal may be extended until the end of the season. The 19-year-old has made 19 Premiership appearances for Boro.
He has been capped by England at Under-18 level and can operate at right-back or in central defence.
Town boss Jim Magilton said: "He's an experienced Premiership football and is an ambitious young player, hungry to come here and show us what he can do."
