Roberts hopes to land a permanent deal at Ipswich |
Ipswich have signed left-winger Gary Roberts from Accrington Stanley on a three-month loan deal. Roberts, 22, who can also play upfront, is a former Liverpool apprentice who spent four years at Anfield.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for me," Roberts told the club's website. "I want to impress the manager and hopefully win a permanent contract."
Roberts joined Accrington in March last year and scored eight League goals in 14 appearances this season.
"Ipswich is a Premiership club in the wrong division and it's up to me to show that I'm worth keeping here." Town boss Jim Magilton was keen to bolster his squad as Mark Noble is expected to return to West Ham next month when his three-month loan expires.
Midfield duo Gavin Williams and Owen Garvan are also both sidelined through injury and illness.
