The 26-year-old will train with the Championship side next week and is set to take part in Town's first pre-season friendly against Boston on 8 July.

The former Sunderland midfielder is a free agent having spent the last three months of the season at Livingston.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told the club's website: "It's that time of the season, but Colin's the first of a number of players we will look at."
