Alan Lee has signed for Ipswich on a two-and-a-half-year deal |
Ipswich have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland striker Alan Lee from Championship rivals Cardiff. Lee, 27, who is thought to have cost Ipswich 100,000, has agreed terms on a two-and-a-half-year deal after completing a medical at Portman Road.
"It's a new challenge for me and I can't wait to get started," Lee told the club's official website.
"The facilities are Premiership class and I want to play my part in helping Ipswich get back to the highest level."
The Bluebirds signed Lee from Rotherham in August 2003 for 850,000 under former boss Lennie Lawrence, but he has struggled with injuries and form since Dave Jones took over at Ninian Park.
