Williams makes Ipswich loan move
Gavin Williams will be at Portman Road for a month
Midfielder Gavin Williams will be at Portman Road for a month
Wales midfielder Gavin Williams is joining Championship club Ipswich Town on a month's loan from West Ham United.

The 25-year-old has not featured for the Hammers in the Premiership this season, but did play in the 4-2 Carling Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Williams joined the Hammers from Yeovil Town in December 2004 for 250,000.

Williams will train with Ipswich on Wednesday and is then expected to link up with the Wales squad for next week's friendly international in Cyprus.

Town boss Joe Royle said: "Gavin is a player we know all about.

"We scouted him when he was at Yeovil but we couldn't afford him, but we've been keeping an eye on him ever since.

"He is very pacy and energetic, and apart from playing in midfield he can also operate as a wide player on either flank. His pace is very attractive to us."
