Foran and Munro were the ones laughing after the draw at Ibrox

Inverness manager Terry Butcher dedicated his side's 1-1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox to Grant Munro.

"I have to say that Grant Munro has had a fantastic game for us in defence," Butcher told BBC Scotland.

"He has been in the labour ward in Inverness. He has just had the birth of his baby girl.

"So it has been a great weekend for the Munros. I wanted to make it a special weekend for Grant Munro and his little girl, Rose."

Butcher also praised striker Eric Odhiambo, who had been dropped to the bench but came on to score a late equaliser to cancel out Maurice Edu's early goal.

"I wanted to go more defensive, but he said he should be played from the start and has scored," he said. "So it was perfect for him."

Inverness remain unbeaten away from home in league games since November and have now only lost three - they have also won two - of their nine visits to Ibrox.

"I think we are unbeaten by Rangers for nearly two years," joked Butcher. "That is our longest unbeaten run, albeit we have only played them twice."

The former Rangers defender was also in mischievous form when asked if his side should have had a penalty when Richie Foran was challenged by Rangers' David Weir.

"Yeah, but I don't think you will get that at Ibrox," he said in a week of much controversy about refereeing decisions in the Scottish Premier League.

"Richie had a great chance and there was a great save by Allan McGregor. How he clawed that one out, I will never know.

"Rangers have had one or two opportunities at the other end to get a second goal and we knew, if it was still 1-0 for long periods of the game, we stood a chance of getting something as the game would be more stretched and people like Richie and Jonny Hayes with their pace could capitalise on that.

"That is what we do. We suck teams in and then we break on them."

Butcher admitted that Rangers' players might have had one eye on their midweek Champions League meeting with Valencia.

"The second half was a lot better than the first," he said. "At half time, we just said to the lads, have a bit more belief as we had good possession in good areas and never troubled Allan McGregor at all.

"We started to get our key players on the ball, with Adam Rooney, Richie Foran and Jonny Hayes, the Irish trio, and stepped up the game.

"In the end, it is a great point for us. It keeps our unbeaten run going and keeps our fantastic away record going.

"We will certainly celebrate the point. To come from one down at Ibrox, particularly the form Rangers have been in, is pretty good."
