Inverness Caley Thistle have signed the former Motherwell and Hibernian player Brian Kerr.
The midfielder bolsters boss Terry Butcher's squad after Don Cowie completed his transfer to Watford.
Kerr, unattached since being released by Hibernian earlier in the season, played under Butcher at Fir Park.
"We've had Brian training with us and now I'm very pleased he's accepted a contract offer," Butcher told the Inverness website.
"When he worked with Maurice Malpas and I before he was a very effective player and his experience can help our squad in our battle to retain SPL status."
Kerr is the third new face brought in to the Highlands club since he took over the manager's job on 27 January, along with Richie Foran and Eric Odhiambo.
"I'm convinced our strengthened pool can build on that excellent performance against Celtic on Sunday," he added.
Kerr, who has played three times for Scotland, signed for Hibernian in 2007 and was a regular under then manager John Collins.
However, with the arrival of new boss Mixu Paatelainen the 27-year-old found first-team opportunities limited before his contract was eventually terminated in September 2008.
Meanwhile, Cowie, 25, has singed a two-and-a-half year deal with Championship club Watford for a nominal fee, despite already signing a pre-contract agreement to move for nothing in the summer.
