Striker Elliot on Inverness radar

Hearts striker Calum Elliot

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are keen on signing Scotland Under-21 forward Calum Elliot from Hearts.

"We are looking to bring in two strikers after the departures of Dennis Wyness and Dean McDonald," director of football Graeme Bennett told the P&J.

"Calum is one of several players we are looking at.

"He is a young player with potential. It might be a good thing for him to join Caley Thistle and get away from the pressures of playing for Hearts."

Elliot, who has a year of his Tynecastle contract to run, scored twice in a 3-0 win for Hearts at the Caledonian Stadium in March.

However, those were his only league goals in a tally of just four from 27 appearances last season.

The 21-year-old, who made his Hearts debut in September 2004, also picked up two red cards during a frustrating term.

Bennett confirmed that the pursuit of Andy Barrowman was still ongoing.

Ross County's leading goalscorer last season has had talks with Inverness manager Craig Brewster but has yet to make a decision on his future.
