Exodus begins as Hull City part company with Mendy
Mendy has left the KC Stadium after two years at the club
Hull City's Bernard Mendy has left the club by mutual consent after two years at the KC Stadium.
The 28-year-old Frenchman joined the Tigers in 2008 ahead of their first ever season in the Premier League.
His move to the East Yorkshire club saw him reunited with manager Phil Brown after the pair had worked together at Bolton Wanderers.
Mendy had a year remaining on his existing deal but the club's relegation triggered a release clause.
His departure is likely to be the first of many as the club, which is £35m in debt, looks to trim their £40m annual wage bill.
Hull are still waiting to find out if proposals to defer the wages of a large majority of the current first-team squad will be accepted by the players and the Professional Footballers Association.
