Ricardo Rocha is the latest name on the Hull City radar

Hull City have held talks with Tottenham's Portuguese international defender Ricardo Rocha.

The 29-year-old was at Hull's training ground on Friday but club chairman Paul Duffen told BBC Radio Humberside their interest is still at an early stage.

Meanwhile, Hull boss Phil Brown hopes to seal the signing of Middlesbrough's George Boateng early next week.

Brown said: "I hope to see George on Monday and go through the medical. Hopefully after that we'll sign him."

Rocha has made 14 Premier League appearances for Spurs since signing from Benfica in January 2007 for over �3m.

Boateng, meanwhile, is currently in South Africa for a testimonial match for Nelson Mandela.

Brown added: "I know there's a lot of interest in George since our interest, but I'm hoping fingers crossed after the weekend."

Hull will give a debut to Brazilian midfielder Geovanni in a pre-season friendly on Monday night at North Ferriby United.

They are also set to include Borussia Dortmund's South African left-sided player Delron Buckley, who is currently on trial at the KC Stadium.
