Sam Ricketts joined Hull two years ago from Swansea
Hull City's Sam Ricketts deserves his shot at the Premier League, reckons his national coach, John Toshack.
And the Wales boss explained why the 26-year-old full-back has now become a regular for his country.
"You know you can always rely on Sam," he said. "Whatever team you are, whatever squad you've got, you need people like that.
"After starting out in the lower divisions he's now got his reward - he's now with a Premiership club."
Toshack, who handed Ricketts his international debut in 2005, also praised him for his willingness to listen and improve.

"He knows all the aspects of his game - he'll ask you what you think, you'll tell him and he'll work on them," he said.
"He's had spells where he maybe hasn't played so well, just like all of us, but he can certainly be pleased with the progress he's made."
Ricketts, signed from Swansea City for 300,000 in 2006, has gone on to make over 90 appearances for Hull and has recently signed a contract extension at the KC Stadium.
Having figured in the Tigers' historic win over Bristol City at Wembley, he was also one of the leading contenders for the club's Player of the Year award.
