Horton was manager of Hull for a four-year period

Hull City have appointed former manager Brian Horton as assistant to boss Phil Brown, report BBC Radio Humberside.

Horton, who previously managed in the Premiership with Manchester City, has been out of work since leaving Macclesfield in October last year.

He was previously manager of Hull for four years between 1984 and 1988.

Hull struggled in the Championship during the 2006-07 season, and finished in 21st place, seven points above the relegation zone.
