Managerless Hull City have appointed Nottingham Forest coach Frank Barlow as caretaker manager. The Tigers have been trying to recruit Colchester boss Phil Parkinson - but the U's have taken out an injunction preventing him from leaving them.
City chairman Adam Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "Frank will be caretaker for however long it takes to secure Phil Parkinson's services."
If Parkinson does join, Barlow will stay at the club as assistant manager.
Barlow had a successful spell as joint caretaker boss at Forest last season, together with Ian McParland.
He will now head up a backroom team at the KC Stadium including Colin Murphy - who had been assistant to former boss Peter Taylor - as development director.
Other posts announced include Mark Prudhoe as goalkeeping coach, Simon Maltby as physiotherapist and Billy Russell as centre of excellence manager.
Chief scout Alan Gemmill has left Hull to join Taylor at Crystal Palace, while Steve Butler has also left the Tigers' coaching staff.
Hull and Colchester are due in the High Court on Monday for a judgement on Parkinson's future.
