 Taylor is being considered by Charlton as a possible new boss |
Hull City manager Peter Taylor is emerging as a leading contender to succeed Alan Curbishley at Charlton. Tigers' chairman Adam Pearson admitted he would let England Under-21 coach Taylor talk to a Premiership club if they made an official approach.
Speculation is mounting that he is Charlton's target, although Hull insist no official approach has been made.
Taylor, 53, told BBC Sport: "All I know about this is I am told that I am on their short list."
Taylor has rebuilt his reputation as one of the country's brightest coaches after a spell at Leicester ended in the sack in October 2001.
He guided Brighton to promotion and then took Hull into the Championship before consolidating their position this season.
Hull chairman Pearson said after Taylor was linked with Charlton: "There's been no approach from Charlton to speak to Peter but if they did we would have to consider it.
"Managing a Premiership club represents a fantastic opportunity for any manager and Peter's achievements here at Hull City clearly merit recognition."
