Huddersfield Town have brought in Liverpool defender Martin Kelly on loan for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old England Under-19 international can play at right-back or centre-half and has played in the Champions League with his parent club.
Manager Lee Clark told the Town website: "I am delighted to have him here for the rest of the season.
"I allows us to have a look at him with a view to a potential loan move in the future," he added.
The 6ft 3ins teenager has been given the number 29 shirt.
Clark added: "We have been watching Martin during his games for England and Liverpool's reserve side and all the reports we have received have been very good.
"He was outstanding for the England under-19 side during their draw with the Czech Republic on Wednesday night and looks to have a very bright future in the game."
Meanwhile, Terriers left-back defender Joe Skarz has joined Hartlepool United on loan until the end of the season.
He links up with Town striker Keigan Parker, whose loan spell at Victoria Park has been extended for the rest of the campaign.
