Booth will see out his career at Huddersfield |
Huddersfield Town striker Andy Booth has signed a new three-year deal at the McAlpine Stadium. Booth, 29, has taken a big wage-cut to agree a new contract, which could see him end his career with the Terriers.
"It's terrific because it helps the club and it settles Andy because his contract was up next summer," said manager Peter Jackson.
"He has shown a massive commitment to the club by signing this deal.
"I am not going to go into details, as that would not be right, but I can tell you he has taken a massive cut in his wages and will probably see out his career at Huddersfield Town.
"He has got a great deal to offer this football club in terms of experience, attitude and ability."
Booth has scored 88 goals for Huddersfield, either side of a five-year stay at Sheffield Wednesday.
He told the club's website: "I've always made it clear I wanted to finish my career with Town. With this deal, the club has probably enabled me to do that.
"We have something to prove after the last few years and this is my chance to see better times again in a Town shirt."
