Huddersfield have suffered both on and off the pitch |
The Football League has ratified Ken Davy's takeover of Huddersfield Town and released the club from administration. Four days before the start of the new season the Terriers have finally been given the all-clear following the buy-out of the club by Huddersfield Giants chairman Davy.
Football League spokesman John Nagle said: "The League Board of the Football League have agreed to the transfer of share to the new regime subject to on-going conditions."
Town chief executive Andrew Watson said he was relieved the Football League had finally given it's consent to the takeover.
"It's fantastic for the club, for the town, for the stadium, for the players and staff," he said.
"There has been enormous pressure for everybody concerned over several months. The skill Ken Davy put in with his bid is just marvellous.
"There were hold-ups, but when you are dealing with 20m worth of credit there are so many things involved and these things do take time to unravel."
