![]() | Thursday, 22 March, 2001, 11:33 GMT Booth's �175,000 Terriers return ![]() Andy Booth is on his way out of Hillsborough Huddersfield have re-signed striker Andy Booth in a �175,000 deal from Sheffield Wednesday. Booth, who has just completed a one-month loan deal at Tottenham, started his career with the Terriers and was a hero among the fans. The move comes just weeks after Owls boss Peter Shreeves said Booth would not be leaving Hillsborough before the end of the season. Booth has signed a three-year deal at the McAlpine Stadium and insisted the Terriers can avoid relegation. "I am sure we can stay up," said the 27-year-old hitman. "What the club needs in this position is experience, and I hope I can bring that - plus score a few goals as well." "I have never made a secret of my love for Huddersfield and as soon as I knew they were interested that was it," he added. "You never know what will happen it football, but I always hoped I would end up back at Huddersfield one day. "When I left I was a raw, young lad and had gone as far as I could at the club. I needed to have a crack at the Premiership. I've done that now, and the time was right to come back." |
