Cregg's last appearance for Falkirk was in their Scottish Cup final defeat
Patrick Cregg has become John Hughes' first signing as Hibernian manager after the midfielder followed him from Scottish Premier League rivals Falkirk.
The 23-year-old had been released after three years with the Bairns but has signed a two-year contract with Hibs.
Hughes said: "Patrick loves getting on the ball and has loads of energy. He's just the sort of player I want here.
"He has his best years in front of him and will thrive on the big stage at Easter Road."
Cregg, who began his senior career with Arsenal, was looking forward to playing for the Edinburgh outfit.
"I loved working with the gaffer at Falkirk, so to be joining him at a club the size of Hibernian is a great opportunity for me," he told Hibs' website.
"I'm very excited about pre-season and can't wait to start work at the training centre this week with the rest of the boys."
Cregg, a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, made only three first-team matches for Arsenal before signing for the Bairns in January 2006.
His last appearance for Falkirk came in May's Scottish Cup final defeat by Rangers.
