Paatelainen was unhappy with the goal his side lost
Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen was critical of his players for switching off and allowing Kilmarnock to snatch a 1-0 win at Rugby Park.
"I felt we had the game under control and we did all the attacking," he told BBC Sport after the match.
"We were down to 10 men because David van Zanten needed stiches and lazy defending from midfielders saw us go 1-0 down. I won't tolerate that.
"We should have scored a couple of goals but we blunt in front of goal."
Colin Nish squandered a great early opportunity, while Steven Fletcher and Filipe Morais had shots well saved by Alan Combe.
Former Killie striker Nish sent a weak shot straight at the keeper when clean through.
"It's all ifs and buts but when you get chances like that you must bury them," added a frustrated Paatelainen. "Maybe he froze a little bit but he should have punished them.
"If you look at positives, we were on the front foot for most of the match.
"But it's all about results and we are deeply disappointed to lose the game."
