"As long as he maintains his club form then I'm sure he is going be involved in the national squad with his quality," said Collins.

"He is a quality player and I am sure that is where he belongs in the national set-up."

Collins expects Brown to recover from a knock to play against Hearts on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Brown, who picked up a hamstring strain, won his third cap in the 2-0 defeat by Italy.

"We will have to wait and see if his value will go up, the buying club will dictate how much they bid," said Collins.

"I think it does add value when you are classed as an international player.

"It tends to up the value, but it is not always the case.

"He is a valuable player anyway, a valuable asset.

"There are not that many Scott Browns walking about football pitches.

"He is a good football player and he has lots of attributes and I am just delighted to have him in my team at the moment."

Brown was linked to Rangers during the January transfer window.

"There's every chance playing for Scotland could attract more clubs, but I am sure he is going to attract a lot of attention anyway," added Collins.
