Belgian Makaba-Makalamby will arrive at Easter Road shortly |
Hibernian have taken Chelsea goalkeeper, 6ft 5in Belgian, Yves Makaba-Makalamby, 20, on trial. He has 18 months left on his Chelsea deal, but is behind Petr Cech, Carlo Cudicini, Hilario and Magnus Hedman in manager Jose Mourinho's plans.
Hibs boss John Collins told the Scotsman: "Jose was happy for him to come up here. He's young but age means nothing, it's quality that counts."
Collins recently axed Zibi Malkowski and is searching for reinforcements.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp attended Hibernian's goalless draw at home to Aberdeen on Tuesday, and is monitoring Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson.
Hibs have already turned down a 3m joint bid from Charlton Athletic for the midfielders, and Redknapp said: "I hope we can get one or two players in the transfer window but as yet I don't know how much money is available."
