Collins explains skipper change
John Collins
Collins was happy with the performance but disappointed with the result
Hibernian manager John Collins has revealed that Kevin Thomson was stripped of the captaincy to relieve pressure from the player.

Thomson was replaced as skipper by defender Rob Jones before the 0-0 home draw with Aberdeen as speculation about his future continues.

"I think it is important for Thomson to focus on his own game," he said.

"I don't expect any problems with Kevin in the future and the most important thing is that he is on the park."

Hibs struggled to break down a stubborn Aberdeen rearguard at Easter Road but Collins was happy with the way his side performed.

"We tried to go forward and score goals but our final pass and shot wasn't really good enough today," he added.
