Broadhurst slams 'pathetic' Bulls

Broadhurst has made 47 league appearances in two seasons for United

Hereford skipper Karl Broadhurst has blasted the team for their performance in the 2-1 loss to Brighton, as they lie on the verge of relegation.

The Bulls have six games left to make up 11 points on Crewe and Carlisle, who lie just outside the relegation zone.

He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We were pathetic, they dominated us. We didn't show any character or endeavour.

"We were a goal down again going in at half time, and we gave it a bit of a go in the second half."

He added: "But we gave away another sloppy goal and the game was over."

Broadhurst believes Tuesday's defeat summed up their season.

We didn't want to work hard enough, we didn't want to keep the ball

"It has not been good enough all season and tonight epitomised it," he said.

"We looked scared, we got bullied all over the pitch, as the home team we should have taken the game to them.

"But we didn't want to work hard enough, we didn't want to keep the ball."

Broadhurst admits they have to win all their remaining games to avoid relegation to League Two, starting against Leicester City on Saturday.

"We have got a game which on a paper we should lose on Saturday," he said.

"But we should see that as a challenge, we need to show some fighting spirit against Leicester.

"Bigger teams come here and think we are a Mickey Mouse outfit, but I hope the 3,000-odd fans who didn't turn up against Brighton will be there to back us on Saturday."
