Stewart was red-carded at New Douglas Park for violent conduct
A Scottish FA panel has reduced Michael Stewart's red card against Hamilton to a caution for "adopting a threatening and/or aggressive attitude".
The Tynecastle captain was the first of four Hearts players sent off at New Douglas Park last Sunday when he clashed with Accies skipper Alex Neil.
But referee David Somers later decided the incident did not merit a red card.
The review means Stewart can now face Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Somers also sent off Hearts defender Ismael Bouzid during the 2-1 win for the Accies and issued three red cards after a scuffle broke out in the tunnel afterwards.
Hearts pair Ian Black and Suso Santana were dismissed for their part in the brawl, along with Hamilton striker Leon Knight.
Meanwhile, Hearts masseur Alan Robbie will be asked to explain comments he directed at Somers during the melee at New Douglas Park.
Robbie cannot be given a touchline ban as he does not enter the dugout during the matches. His involvement in the fracas will be discussed by the disciplinary body of the SFA when they next meet on 27 January.
In August, Hearts were fined £40,000 for poor discipline during the 2008/09 season after receiving 11 red cards.
A further £10,000 was suspended until January 2010 pending good behaviour.
