Laszlo has been quoted saying he was surprised not to be linked with Celtic

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is happy at the club despite being quoted as saying he was surprised not to have been linked with Celtic in the summer.

Gordon Strachan left Celtic Park after a four-year reign and has since been replaced by Tony Mowbray.

But Laszlo said on Friday he was content at Tynecastle.

"If I have the feeling the players and the club stay behind me, I can be linked with every job in the world, but why would I move?"

Laszlo had been quoted saying he was surprised not to be linked with the managerial vacancy at Celtic when Strachan parted company with the club in May.

However, the Hearts boss said he was happy at Tynecastle and revealed he met owner Vladimir Romanov this week to discuss plans for the January transfer window.

"Mr Romanov was very realistic," he said.

Laslo arrived at Hearts in July 2008 and guided the Edinburgh club to a third-place finish in the Scottish Premier League in his first season in charge.

On Wednesday, Hearts ended a poor start to the season by eliminating holders Celtic from the Co-operative Insurance Cup, courtesy of captain Michael Stewart's penalty.
