Laszlo and captain Michael Stewart in grim mood after the defeat
After their 4-0 Europa League defeat, Csaba Laszlo thinks his Hearts team can give a better performance against Dinamo Zagreb in next week's return.
"The most important thing is to win the next game at Tynecastle. I don't think we are so bad," said Laszlo.
"It's not OK to lose 4-0. This is my biggest defeat at international level, but I must recognise that it was not like the Scottish league.
"We must work and we must all learn from this."
Hearts were outclassed in Zagreb by swift and clinical opponents and might have suffered an even heavier defeat had it not been for goalkeeper Marian Kello.
Laszlo admits to gulf in quality
And the Tynecastle boss was blunt in his assessment of how the play-off round first leg had gone.
"The problem in international games is if you give too many chances to your opponent, they will score," he said.
"I think they killed our tactics in the first five minutes. This is the same as in Dundee where we made a mistake on the right.
"You have a difference in quality between the players. If you have a team that has players at 10-12 million, you must accept that this is the difference.
"These young guys must learn a lot. We must try to win the home game."
