Bruno Aguiar appears to be a summer target for the Old Firm after his agent confirmed that the midfielder will leave Hearts in the summer.
Paulo Barbosa would not name the parties showing an interest in the 28-year-old but said discussions had been held with "other Scottish clubs".
Only Celtic and Rangers could realistically afford Aguiar's salary.
"The first option for Bruno is to stay in Scotland as he likes it there - but with other clubs," said Barbosa.
The agent said that there had been interest from clubs throughout Europe and that Spain would be the Portuguese player's second choice of destination.
Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has publicly stated that he is still hopeful that owner Vladimir Romanov could retain Aguiar, who joined the Edinburgh club after leaving Benfica in 2006.

But Barbosa told BBC Scotland: "When Vladimir Romanov comes with an offer, we will be polite, as we have good relations with Hearts, but when we are talking about staying in Scotland it is with other clubs."
Hearts have already lost defender Christos Karapidis, who will join Cypriot outfit Omonia Nicosia in the summer, despite qualifying for next season's Europa League.
The Greek was pleased that the club had secured third place in the Scottish Premier League by beating Dundee United on Saturday in his final appearance at Tynecastle.
"This was my best day in Edinburgh," Karapidis told Hearts' website.
"We had a very difficult season, but one game before the end we are happy and we celebrate because we are going back to the Uefa Cup.
"I want people to stay together, to be better and to go to the groups in Uefa and enjoy."
