Injury blow for Hearts' Kingston

Laryea Kingston lies injured during the draw with St Mirren
Kingston injured a hamstring playing against St Mirren on Saturday

Hearts' Laryea Kingston is facing up to two months on the sidelines after a hospital scan confirmed he has sustained a torn hamstring injury.

The Ghana midfielder, 26, was stretchered off moments after appearing as a substitute in last weekend's 1-1 draw against St Mirren.

Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo said: "He has torn his hamstring and this is disappointing for him and the club.

"I'm told we are looking at six to eight weeks out."

Laszlo told the Tynecastle club's official website: "He has had a number of injury problems this season and this is another setback for him.

"But, if Laryea works hard, he could be back playing an important role for the team in the last few games of the season."

Meanwhile, Laszlo will have Greek defender Christos Karipidis available for Saturday's trip to Tannadice as he has recovered from flu.

Saulius Mikoliunas will be available for selection again after he came through the game with St Mirren unscathed.

The Lithuanian winger made his return after recovering from four months on the sidelines due to a serious knee ligament injury.

Mikoliunas told Hearts' website: "It felt good to be back playing again, but obviously it was a disappointing finish to the game for us."
