Laszlo rejected big Saudi offer

Hearts manager Csaba Lazslo
Lazslo's dream was to return to a coaching role in Europe

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo turned down a lucrative coaching job in Saudi Arabia - and another in Japan - before taking charge at Tynecastle.

Laszlo was in charge of the Ugandan national team at the time.

He told Hearts' website: "I was in Uganda and I had an offer from a Saudi Arabian club.

"But I wouldn't like to tell how much money I was offered for a half-year contract. Sometimes it's not always about money."

Laszlo, who said he also had an "interesting" offer from Japan, said it had been his dream to return to Europe.

"If I have success, I can always go to Saudi Arabia or similar countries," he said.

"I would like to stay a long time here - in Scotland and the UK - and maybe achieve more.

"I am 44 and life has given me the chance to come to Scotland - that's great."
