Berra said there was no panic amongst the players over the wages delay

Hearts have confirmed all players and staff have now received their weekly and monthly wages following days of uncertainty over the payments.

The club blamed a "technical hitch" for the delay to payments that should have gone through last Friday.

Some fans had feared that the world financial crisis had affected majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov's Lithuanian bank, Ukio Bankas.

But Hearts insisted that it was down to a special set of circumstances.

"Payment has now been processed as planned and a similar situation is highly unlikely to arise again," said a statement on the club website.

"The minor error that occurred has not affected the running of the club in any way. All staff are working as normal."

Hearts' players had not been paid their weekly payments, transferred each week from parent company Ukio Bankas Investment Group, last Friday.

Backroom staff had been expecting to receive their monthly salary on Tuesday 24 September.

But, after being summoned to a meeting that day, they were informed that this would not be the case.

Now, after being processed, the money has arrived in staff bank accounts on Friday as promised by the club.

On Wednesday, club captain Christophe Berra reassured fans that the players had no intention of going on strike over the problem.

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo insisted the spirit in his squad had not been affected by the wage problems and said his players would be focused on the task against Dundee United on Saturday.

"I don't have an influence over this, I have influence over my team and to be positive.

"My job is not to think about this and discuss it. Believe me, if you were in my position you would think the same.

"Most important at the moment is what happens against Dundee United. You must have priorities. What is the most priority for a football coach? The results, his team. This is my priority.

"Always in your life, you have problems, but you must have solutions. For me, the solution is if it's possible to take three points from Dundee United.

"You always have difficult times but you must be positive."
