Tullberg turned out for Hearts at their training camp

Danish striker Mike Tullberg has joined Hearts from Italian side Reggina on a one-year loan deal.

The 22-year-old pulled out of the club's training camp in Germany with a thigh injury, but he had done enough to impress manager Csaba Laszlo.

"We only want to bring in quality and I believe Mike is a guy who can help us," Laszlo told the club website.

"I think Scottish football will suit my style," added Tullberg, who moved from Aarhus to Reggina last summer.

The striker watched Hearts beat Motherwell 3-2 at the weekend and is anxious to get involved.

However, he is still recovering from his pre-season injury and is likely to be sidelined for another two weeks.

"I was at the game on Saturday and I had goosebumps when the players came out because the atmosphere was so fantastic," he said.

Tullberg started his career with Randers Freja then moved on to Grenaa IF and Aarhus before his transfer to Serie A.

But he made just five appearances for the Italian side.
