Michal Pospisil has been in and out of the Hearts side |
Hearts have decided against returning Andrius Velicka to Kaunas but allowed fellow striker Michal Pospisil to join Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen on trial. Pospisil has made 59 appearances since arriving from Slovan Liberec for 300,000 in 2005.
Velicka had been expected to be one of five players on loan from Kaunas being returned to the Lithuanian club.
But he, goalkeeper Eduardas Kurskis, Kestutis Ivaskevicius and Tomas Kancelkis will now stay at Tynecastle.
Kurskis has yet to make his debut for Hearts but is now required as cover for Craig Gordon, who was sold this week to Sunderland.
But midfielder Linas Pilibaitis, who featured five times last season, has returned to Kaunas, who are sponsored by Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov's bank.
Ivaskevicius has made 10 appearances for Hearts, while Pilibaitis and Kancelskis both featured five times last season.
Czech striker Pospisil spent time on trial at Bristol City in January but returned to the Tynecastle club after failing to agree terms.
