Frail says Hearts are happy camp
Stephen Frail overcomes a few pre-season training hurdles
Stephen Frail has been leading from the front during pre-season
Hearts assistant Stephen Frail has denied suggestions of dissent about pre-season training among his players.

"It must be a different camp," he told Hearts' website following reports of disquiet about the methods under former interim head coach Eduard Malofeev.

"You could have the best coach in the world and they would still moan, especially in the heat.

"I used to do it myself as a player, but it is nothing that won't be happening at every other club now."

Hearts striker Michal Pospisil had been quoted on Hearts' own website as suggesting that the camps in Austria then Germany were too long and had hampered them in training games.

But Frail insisted: "The last couple of days have been good.

Our players do just get on with it and they will listen to whoever is in charge

"We need sharpness and that has been evident in the games we have played.

"But we can only get that from what we work on in training and hopefully it will come from the rest of the trip and when we get back to Riccarton.

"We are still three weeks away from the start of the season, so we have a long time to get that sharpness.

"I would rather we had it for the first game against Hibs than be flying just now."

Malofeev had been in charge of Hearts for six games last season following the departure of Valdas Ivanauskas.

He moved on to Ripo Minsk but has rejoined the Hearts set-up for pre-season.

Frail, who is second in charge to present interim coach Anatoly Korobochka, was guarded about possible confusion among the players over who was in charge of preparations in Germany.

"They have to get on with it and that is one thing they are used to given the amount of changes we have had at our place," he said.

"Our players do just get on with it and they will listen to whoever is in charge."

Meanwhile, Frail confirmed that prospective trialist Ripo Minsk striker Vyacheslav Hleb had not yet joined the squad in Germany.

The Hearts assistant also stressed that Spanish midfielder Ruben Palazuelos was still on trial with Hearts and that a transfer deal from Gimnastic had not yet been completed.
