Craig Gordon has been linked with a move from Tynecastle |
Hearts assistant manager Stephen Frail claims the club would seek 10m for Craig Gordon if the Scotland goalkeeper was to leave Tynecastle. Frail bases his estimate on the 4.4m Celtic spent on Hibernian midfielder Scott Brown this week.
"For all Scott Brown is a fantastic player, and it was a great move for him, you'd be looking at maybe double for Craig, maybe 10m," he said.
"He is top, top drawer. I am glad he is in our goal."
The 24-year-old Gordon looked set to leave in January, but there was no buyer at Hearts' asking price.
But Frail said: "It will not scare the top guys. They pay 15-20m for strikers that are important at one end.
"But it is important to get someone in the goal who is as good as these guys.
"I am sure he will go right to the top in the game, but I hope he is here next year for us."
Meanwhile, Hearts are giving a trial to Portuguese midfielder Rui Baiao.
The 26-year-old, available on a free transfer from Portuguese Second Division outfit Portimonense, trained with the Tynecastle squad this week.
But he is a former team-mate of Hearts midfielder Bruno Aguiar, having previously played with Benfica, Gil Vicente and Estrela da Amadora.
"It's been difficult to assess him, but he's done fine," said Frail.
