Vladimir Romanov faces a similar fine for comments about referees |
Hearts have paid a 10,000 fine imposed on the club following comments made by majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov. The Scottish Football Association fined the club over Romanov's reference to referees' conduct during Hearts' Scottish Cup run last season.
Hearts could have been prevented from playing in European competition next season if they had failed to pay.
Romanov's personal appeal against a similar fine will be heard by an independent tribunal on Monday.
The Russian-born businessman has been critical of the Scottish media since he arrived in Scotland.
Speaking on the club's website last October, he said: "Last season, you didn't manage to protect the Scottish Cup and gave it to Hearts, despite all the referees' efforts and intrigues."
Romanov has also suggested referees were biased against the Edinburgh club and will have his appeal heard on Monday for a similar 10,000 fine imposed by the SFA.
The SFA closed a loophole in May that had allowed those without an official club post to make outspoken views.
