Hearts' debt has increased under Vladimir Romanov |
Hearts' majority shareholder, Vladimir Romanov, has signalled that he will remain in charge of the Edinburgh football club for many years to come. Speculation about the Lithuanian-based businessman's plans has increased following news of spiralling debts at the Scottish Premier League outfit.
But Romanov told kids at the club's youth academy: "I hope that, in five or six years, you'll be part of my plans.
"I am waiting for you to grow up so Hearts get the best Scottish talent."
Romanov has also been criticised for flooding the club with foreign players.
But he told the group of 11-year-olds: "We're expecting to get new players from the academy.
"The ones born in 1988 aer coming through now.
"We will have our own players to strengthen the squad for the future."
