The impressive Banks has only let in one goal this season |
Hearts goalkeeper Steve Banks has agreed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the end of next season. The 35-year-old has played in Hearts' last four matches, with captain Craig Gordon currently out of favour.
And the Englishman, who arrived Gillingham in the summer of 2005, has only conceded one goal in his six appearances during this campaign.
"It rounds off a great weekend for me," Banks told the club website. "I'm delighted to stay for another year."
Head coach Valdas Ivanauskas has repeatedly praised Gordon but blamed transfer speculation for unsettling the Scotland international.
Gordon returned to the bench last weekend but did not make the match-day squad for the 1-0 win over Inverness.
