Ivanauskas backs sent-off Hartley
Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas
Valdas Ivanauskas thought his side deserved a victory
Valdas Ivanauskas thought Paul Hartley should not have been sent off and revealed that Christophe Berra was hauled off for his errors for Hearts.

"He makes mistakes, but it is not a decision about Christophe Berra, it is a decision about the team," the boss said after the 2-2 draw with St Mirren.

Of Hartley, he said: "It was not easy for him because he was very angry and had a lot of energy.

"The second foul was a normal football foul, but it's the referee's decision."

Hearts have now gone nine points without a win.

"The players are professional and our job was okay, but we need a win," added Ivanauskas.

"I think we deserved three points. I can't remember the last time we scored two goals.

"I was happy with the performance and the team spirit."
