Eduard Malofeev does not blame goalkeeper Craig Gordon |
Interim Hearts head coach Eduard Malofeev admits he made a mistake by substituting midfielder Bruno Aguiar as Celtic scored late on to win 2-1. "I looked at Bruno and thought he was tired and it was time to make a change," said Malofeev.
"But, after the way things went, I should not have taken him off."
Malofeev did not think the title race was over with his side 13 points behind but admitted: "We are going to have to learn to run quickly to catch Celtic."
Andrius Velicka was the goal hero for Hearts.
But Celtic struck back through substitute Jiri Jarosik and an own goal by goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
But Malofeev defended the Scotland international and thought that fortune had favoured Celtic boss Gordon Strachan.
"I am not blaming Gordon for the own goal, even if it was a mistake," he said.
"That's football and we are all humans.
"Velicka had chance to score a second, but he didn't.
"Strachan was lucky. Celtic brought on their Czech player and he scored."
