Ivanauskas has a tough task ahead in Athens |
Valdas Ivanauskas admitted his disappointment with Hearts performance as they left Ibrox empty-handed after a 2-0 defeat to title rivals Rangers. The Tynecastle head coach said: "I was frustrated at the start of the second half. When Rangers scored their first goal it was not easy for us.
"Unfortunately for their second goal we failed to concentrate in defence. Playing three strikers failed.
"It was a tough game and I think the players were frustrated."
Kris Boyd's double takes the Glasgow side to the top of the SPL after a below-par showing from the Edinburgh club.
Ivanauskas will now take Hearts to Greece for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier against AEK Athens.
The Edinburgh side are facing an uphill struggle to stay in the competition, after losing the first-leg 2-1 in Edinburgh.
And Ivanauskas has major doubts over the fitness of both Paul Hartley and Michal Pospisil, who picked up an ankle knock at Ibrox.
"Michal's injury does not look good for the game on Wednesday," said the Lithuanian.
"He's a strong player for us and if he doesn't make it we will certainly miss him.
"We need a reaction from the team before Wednesday."
