Romanov does not have an official title at Hearts currently

Romanov owns more than 80% of the club's shares but is not listed as an official. This led the SFA to request clarification of his role.

His son, Roman, the Hearts chairman, told the Evening News: "We feel more than anything that we need a president, somebody who represents Hearts.

"We will decide who it is soon, but it is true that it could be Vladimir."

Romanov Jnr added that a decision would be announced after the end of the season.

He stressed: "We haven't ruled out the possibility of it being someone else."
