Andy Webster had been keen to re-sign in November |
Hearts and Scotland defender Andy Webster will not renew talks over a new contract at Tynecastle. Webster was dropped to the bench for Tuesday's visit to Tannadice to face Dundee Utd and is not happy with the way team matters are being run.
Agent Charlie Duddy said: "Negotiations over a new contract for Andy have been brought to an end permanently. We will not be re-opening them."
Webster has 17 months to run on his current Tynecastle deal.
In November, the 23-year-old had said he was keen to remain with Hearts and agree a new contract.
He had been enthused by the quality of signings brought in by new owner Vladimir Romanov.
But the news of the breakdown of talks came as players revealed to BBC Sport that they had been told by head coach Graham Rix that Romanov was now picking the team.
